The correct lighting in any Lexington home can make a big difference. Lighting can illuminate a whole room, draw attention to a specific architectural piece, or just alter the appearance of a room. When putting in brand new lighting, there are several things to keep in mind. It is important to use a consistent style. A period crystal chandelier will look better in an older home than bright tract lighting will. Keep in mind, different lighting can accomplish different things. By putting lights under cabinets, you can highlight a granite countertop.

Make sure you look at each room at night, without any natural light, to get an idea for the kind of lighting that fits the best. A sconce is a good way to add a romantic, elegant, touch to most any wall. Always find a cover for the bulb, there's nothing more unsightly than an uncovered bulb. Finally, put in individual switches for each light and don't forget about the dimmers. By keeping these hints in mind, your Lexington home will be beautifully lit.
