Many more folks are buying gizmos that need cords. Nearly every Lexington home hosts a mixture of cell phones, computers, and iPods, which require a slew of ugly cords. Furniture with built in power strips, USB ports, and phone and Internet jacks are now being built by many companies. From side tables to work tables to coffee tables, power sources can be concealed anywhere.

Avoiding spills on night stands and coffee tables is one challenge that comes with power outlets. We're accustomed to keeping drinks away from the keyboard, but can we keep them away from the coffee table? We must proceed with caution until cell phones and laptops are made waterproof. This style of furniture will soon become the norm; as of now, it remains a luxury.
